MBF Time Capsule 4 :: 2011 Predictions

[Pyro]

Predictions:

PQ will release in 2011 (there's still hope right?).
The very few old, hidden levels will be dug up.
I will begin making levels again, and this time they'll be good.
I'll finally learn how to make moving platforms.
Someone will come along with a level better than No Jumping II (by Oaky)
The transparent floor, the purple frictionless terrain, the green and yellow random force terrains, and different jump impulses and gravity settings will feature in many levels.
Another exceptionally good female member will come along.
PQ will start advertising in places other than the MB forums, and attract masses of attention.
Project Ascent (is it dead?) will be released.
Map2Dif will work for everyone, universally.

Non MBF Predictions:

Sly 4 will be released, or at least confirmed. :pray::pray::pray::pray::pray:
If the above is true, I will ditch my old PS2 and buy a PS3.
The first non-Bungee Halo game will be released, or at least confirmed.
Call of Duty will die, and I can finally have some peace.
I will an Intermural Basketball Team next year.

MB-related Predictions:

I will continue to play Marble Blast on a regular basis, hopefully at least to the end of the year/before PQ will be released.
MBA will release a major patch that can bring most of the marblers back to play it regularly just like MBP.
Multiplayer will eventually be available to Marble Blast in a mod.
PQ will be releasing trailers from time to time to keep the community informed and excited about it.
Once PQ is released, I'll become active again at MB and post vids often.
I will make at least one custom level and release it to the public.
At least 2 new comers will join the forums and be active enough to be recognized on the forums.

Non-MB-related Predictions:

I will have an iPhone/iPad for myself, hopefully after getting good exam results.
I will have a new computer, which is good enough to play GTA IV smoothly and run FRAPS without any lag.
I will make some videos related to other games e.g. GTA.

Also, Pablo, it was a half-joke. Xelna's the best female (and possibly the best overall) MBer ever. I meant that a female might ocme a long and get recognized massively on the forums for being exceptionally good.

okay:

INTERWEBS / MB

- Much more will have been announced about PQ, possibly gameplay trailers, mention of new features, entire-level pics, perhaps even 3 or so level demo.
- PQ's release will see a huge burst of popularity for the forums and custom levels will once again be plentiful, LotY will be back and there'll be alltime highs in activity.
- Until then, custom level production will slump even more and so will the forums in general (lack of posting etc).
- Three new members will come along and become 'regulars'. One of these will be the next epic level maker.
- One old member who's left will return to full-time posting.

PERSONAL

- Dexter season 6 will come out, won't be as disappointing as S5 and Deb will find out about Dex.
- Hopefully I'll be very near to or perhaps even above 100 hours of my L's.
- I'll have played some epic PS3 games such as Assassins Creed 3+4, Portal 2, next COD etc.
- I'll only have one new Wii game, Zelda Skyward Sword.
- Survivor #22 will be OK, Amazing Race #18 will be ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
- Something new will have happened w/ Flight of the Conchords?
- Even more fluent-er-est at Jap.

I really dunno what else, I want a huge list to compare to next year so I'll edit with more later. More predicitons = more fun in a year

General/MBG predictions:

I will release something significant and cool in September or October 2011.
I'm currently on a hiatus from MBG ever since I got MBP on Mac in November. This hiatus will continue until at least May. (Exceptions: no Gems, no Jumping, etc.)
I won't get any additional WRs in MBG this year.

MBP predictions:

I will get at least 2 new MBP WRs.
I will finally beat Morph, giving me an Advanced Levels total of 100%. ( * Note: For those who saw "Thief and Morph," I beat Thief a few weeks ago)
I will beat at least 2 of the "really long Expert levels" in a time that's not embarrassing (that I haven't already done so).

Computer technology predictions:

NVIDIA will release one more large Fermi chip (>400 mm^2) on 40 nm to succeed GF110 before Kepler.
We will get significant information on Intel Haswell and Larrabee (or whatever it ends up as).

Real World predictions:

In college, an event or a series of events in the next year that significantly relate to me will change (or at least shake up) the direction of my life forever…

Pascal's (hey have you ever clarified what name you like to be called? I default to Pascal because it was used first. Similar to how we can Matan Matan and not IRD) just that BA. That or he's just lazy. It got changed one year for April Fool's Day and it's not changed since!

Predictions
•I will still be playing MB, though sporadically (or should I say, Sporlodically).
•I will have 2,000 posts. If I don't have 2,000 posts by the time this is unburied and I remember this post, I will spam my blog until I have 2,000 posts. If I further fail to do that, I will see this post next year and do it immediately afterwards.
•My posts per day will go down.
•3,000 members! If not it will be lower.
•My Slip 'n Slide WR will stand.
•MBP will be awesome.
•I will still visit the forums enough to know what's going on. As the forums become more popular and frequented by n00bs, I'll probably like the atmosphere less and less, but it'll still be interesting.

•GarageGames will do something awesome!
•Apple will have changed a lot and the future of OS X and iOS will be more clear, perhaps even merged into one OS having only slightly different flavors for each different device. iMacs will gain touchscreens for dual-purpose computing.
•AirPlay will be extended to the entire OS.
•Netflix will do something about their crappy streaming selection.

•The apocalypse (lol) will be less than 1 year away at the unburying of the time capsule and we will begin hearing a TON about it.
•Society will deteriorate further while technology will advance even faster, creating a strange paradox as people ignore the societal aspect and tout the technological aspect as the example of an improved human experience. (lol) (this should more appropriately be applied to maybe the next 10 years, but whatevs)

•I will go to Cedar Point!
•I will do something cool over the summer. (now I can apply this to anything at all for guarunteed correctness!)
•I will get a 33 or higher on the ACT.
•I will be a senior and figure out where I'll go to college (within 2 schools).
•I will have an amazing year in cross country and I will beat 16:15.
•I will run over the winter!
•I'll finally do the one thing I've been wanting to do for a long time.

- MBF will soon be released. At least a demo if anything.
- An MBE Trailer video really soon so be prepared.
- MBE might be released in 2011. Most likely.
- PQ will be released this year.
- MBO might be coming back hopefully.

-MBO (Opal) and MBF (Future) will be either have demos released or be totally finished.

-The full version of Minecraft will be released

-I will somehow get a chance to play something like MBO (online)

-I will make a texture mod for MBG/MBP with Minecraft textures, because I will have nothing better to do

-I will NOT gain any more ability to play MB games well

-I will post in the next time capsule

1. Platinum Quest will not be released this year

2. Seven noob mods will be proposed with only about 1-2 having some rate of success

3. I will get everything on my computer sorted out and start making levels agian by March-April

4. Something big will happen in Matan's life, could be good or bad but there may be a change in how often he plays MB

5. One Current Staff member will leave the community

6. Another copy of the MBU standalone will be released (whether it be legal or not)

7. A new member will join with incredible level ideas and interior designing

8. A new member will join who has great coding skills

9. The forums will be hacked or go down for a while

This is kind of a grim prediction, but it's what I believe.

The forums will continue declining, with more and more noobs coming and starting mods. Some old members may return, but many more will leave. Some awesome PQ updates will be released, which will keep the community together until 2012/13 release. No one will play MBO, either online or standalone. Every single mod in progress dies except PQ. (I'd give MBF a 50% chance.) Very few people make levels, and LotM is not restarted. The staff finally takes my advice and makes all JC members Council, eliminating JC as a separate body because it was silly.

-> I'll finish Hocus Pocus TAS (episodes 2-4) but won't do 100%
-> I'll finish Rayman Advance TAS as a co-author. I'll do 3 levels or more by myself.
-> I'll TAS a new game (dunno which) this year. Won't finish.
-> I won't finish my TPI speedrun, but I will finish Arabian Nights with $50k+ and 7 challenges unlocked (1 finished, 6 available) as I need.
-> JC may be removed and its staff upgraded to Council. This will in turn cause a shift in who is being staff, with some staff people removed and others given less power, and the Council as a whole may be renamed.
-> I will find a job.
-> I will go to Israel in 2012 because there will be a ticket. If the above happens, I won't go to Israel.
-> Someone from Israel will visit us
-> I'll get a new bag for uni because I need one dammit

Nothing against you, but although I agree with the future of OS X and iOS becoming clearer, I'm going to have to disagree with both these predictions, at least for the 2011 year (MBF capsule). I'm also going to say no desktop/laptop Mac will get a touchscreen.
