Hey everyone, I was practicing my skills in Constructor, and since I know Marble Blast does not support terrain, I tried to manually create a hill. I did it and it worked out pretty well: Multiple Hills One Hill You can download the map of the hill HERE. And the interior HERE. The single hill converts, but the multiple hills do not convert. If you want to get multiple hills in the LE, just remove the ground in the map, leaving only the hill itself. That way, you can copy & paste, rotate, and position the hill any way you want.

If I get around to it, then yes. Basically starting with a normal 0.5 width curve and the copy and pasting it on each side multiple times pulling the side down each time. Also removing excess brushes so it will convert. EDIT: I just finished making some sand dunes, and they looked very nice. I also made a few wooden platforms and placed them on the dunes to act as ramps. This could make some pretty good levels! Download the sand dune HERE.

aha, so it's just a little archy-thingy that's been cloned to the sides. The clones have their faces pulled downward.(?)

Sort of, but I made sure that brushes that would appear under the ground were not included. Take a look at the map and you'll see.

Ah neat. I see each section has a quad face, did you slice it all manually? I tried something like this with triangle faces, but moving each vertex individually can get boring. Maybe I could script one of those group vertex movement tools, like you see in modeling programs.

Nope, it's all 100% cubes. No slicing or triangle brushes involved.
I move each vertex manually, and it doesn't take long since I start out small. If I wanted to make it bigger, I would select all the brushes, ctrl + 2, R, and increase the size.
It's very simple and does not have any problems with map2dif, unless you have something other than the hill in the map.

No offense to FruBlox, but MMS's way of making terrain looks better. If you want to learn terrain, rct3fan, you should get Milkshape.

Ahhh... I forgot to show you guys my new terrains. The hills are extremely fun to roll on and I would make an entire terrain level but Marble Blast only supports so much. Terrain is more fun in Torque 3D, anyway.
But with MD's help, I've managed to flatten the edges so that the hill doesn't just sink into the ground, but actually smooths out to the ground level. This looks super cool and I think could make a cool beach level since the sandbars I've tested out are closely realistic(in MB terms, at least).
Only problem is I haven't built a completely stable version that 100% converts, the method of flattening out uses half-triangles, and making them isn't directly simple, plus it takes time to line up and unify the textures perfectly and the fact that these triangles screw up conversion easily(sometimes they become non-solid faces or malformed brushes).
With the non-flattened edges hills, I found that by keeping the corners you can easily copy and paste them around each other to form a nice and very smooth hilly landscape. I don't have the files right now, but I'll have access to them this weekend. I should also be able to make something quick in the meantime as a demonstration.

I thought this was going to be some incredibly stupid new mod, but it turns out that it's something completely awesome! Great work!

I suggest setting all the brushes to detail and using this method: linkYou may get better conversion results.

Back guys! Big bump but whatever, I have new content. My new type of hills I made and only showed to a few others. Remade it just today so yeah, I guess it's pretty easy to make. Map: www.mediafire.com/file/aa526b25vgva8ib/MBHill.mapDif: www.mediafire.com/file/edfxll8y5ko4t7n/MBHill.difFeatures: Can be multiplied to get as many hills as you want in a consecutive space. Always converts well. Is pretty simple so it doesn't cause any lag whilst playing or level building. Can be re-sized, cut off, and edited to your delight because this is public to everyone, so anyone can use it.

How do the corners of the hill blend with a flat surface?
