Seasons - LC5 "Two Sides of a Coin" Entry Type: MBG (I put an Ultimate time in the .mis though) My first release. Go back and forth between the seasons to get the necessary powerups. Download: mediafire.com/download.php?mklyatwz0zt----------- Lighting Demo Level @ Mods: Please don't add this one to level releases. Type: MBG I made a small level to show what can be done with the lights. Download: mediafire.com/download.php?owoymjyig0lYou can post and tell me if it ran smoothly or not on your system. A small problem, though...the lights continue to grow in size, so you'll have to exit and reload the level to get it back to normal. Also, the gold time might be too low.

I am seriously wowed. This is perhaps the best first level from anyone that I've ever played. I can't believe you've never made a custom level before - you're already a pro! The level is amazingly original and creative, fun, and challenging. You've set the bar high for any future levels you make, and I cannot wait to play them. You definitely need to enter this into LotM; it has a good shot at winning.

Thanks! It still has two bugs I'd like to fix before adding. Am I allowed to submit an updated map to LotM?

Thanks. I was working on this thing. It's supposed to be fast-paced, but it still feels lacking. It has funnels, pipes, and a monorail-ish track. Just posting pics before the school days come and sap my Constructor time.

That looks really fun, in the true spirit of MBG! I sure hope you finish it.

Messing with mine datablocks for dynamic lights, since that's the only area in mbg I could find this type of dynamic light. Seems promising if it doesn't cause too much framerate lag. One issue is that it doesn't give a consistent dimming falloff to .dts shapes. Red, green, and blue lights in an interior:

Your LC5 level is just amazing.
Only I can't work out how to get to the Bowl in Summer, or the finish in Winter.
EDIT: Unless you get the SJ from Winder to get to the Bowl, and use that SS to get the the end... OMFG GENIUS!

Yeah, I have some experience from similar things I used to do previously.
I have that kind of troubleshooter-ish mind.
There are 4 total datablocks and functions in the .mis for each different light.
The bottom function is the one that controls when it's lit. It's basically a mine that auto-detonates after 5 seconds from being added (includes time spent during loading), with most of the particle datablocks and such erased. And since it respawns and can change from one color to another, you could have a continuously pulsing light, or a light that turns switches on/off every two seconds. I assume that the resettime on the datablocks is currently so high that it loops around or something and becomes lower ingame. Lastly, there's the pref just before OBJECT WRITE BEGIN that raises the maximum dynamic light count.
Edit:
Actually, I was wrong about the lights respawning, the light radius just grew (I was mistaken about the radius start/end things in the datablock). So, I'll look at finding another way around it.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Seizure might very well be one of the best things that could have happened to this forum. I'd like to try [making] a strobe light level... If I have time.

But.... you have 23 posts.... people with 23 posts just aren't useful... NO 23 POSTER ACTUALLY IS USEFUL... but OMG nice worky. I REALLY like the lighting.
But on your LC5... there are tons of misaligned textures. In my mind, stretched textures are better than misaligned textures. Also, there's a bug below the square-thing-area in which you can fall into the floor. Next time, CSG subtract from the pieces before hax converting.
And the lights... THIS was what I was looking for in my Crystal cave level! Now I can haz finnish it! (see my topic, Emitters and Lights, (LB board) which was me trying to figure out how to do that stuffs)
