Comment as of July 27th: well, the stuff below i typed a week ago on July 20th, not expecting to be delayed in posting it. Today's type starts after i talk about the Demon.
Please note that i ramble on about Six Flags, so u dont have to read all that. I spend like 7,000 characters JUST on SF.
LOTS of stuff has happened. Well, i just forgot to do my blog for a whole week
Well, here goes:
July 10/11/12:
uh... well, seeing as it was over a week ago. i dont remember much But mainly these days i sat down and watched E3 07 on G4, a video game channel. lol i would stay up till 11:15 at night (okay, i know its not that late at all, but for me, that's pretty late) considering i went to bed after my parents! Anyway it was fun. cuz it was the first time i got to see video game stuff on TV! i'll probably never watch G4 again cuz i just watched for E3. Oh, and after i saw 1.5 episodes of Code Monkeys. a new series with lots of wrong jokes. its for people like Matan and PF who love that kind of stuff . on the 2nd episode i stopped halfway in cuz it was just too nasty for me. it was REALLY funny, but after a guy was naked (very bad animation, cuz this show is of "8-bit proportions") for the whole time it was just too much ugh!
July 13th: FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!!!!!! AHHHH!!!!
The only thing I remember doing today is seeing Harry Potter 5. I thought it was pretty good. they cut TONS of the scenes short, therefore making them less spectacular than the book's scenes, but with the movie STILL being 2.5 hours, i can see why they had too Anyway, nothing bad happened on FRIDAY THE 13TH
July 14th:
I WENT TO SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA IN GURNEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAHOOOO!!!
AND GUESS WHAT!?! WE DIDN'T SPEND A SINGLE PENNY IN THE PARK!!!!! FREE ADMISSION AND FOOD!! It was great. See, every year my dad's company has a "company picnic" where everyone gets together to do something and it's all free. It used to be a Chicago boat tour (those were great too.) with a fireworks show at the end (apparently Chicago has a fireworks show every Saturday!!! ) But the last two years, they decided to book a spot in SF's Picnic Grove, and give employees free tickets for their families! So, this is what i did at the park :
First, we had to wait through the totally annoying opening show where they sing obnoxiously for 15 minutes . Anyways, we hit Superman Ultimate Flight first. It's a real fun ride featuring a "pretzel loop" which is an inverted loop: you fall DOWN instead of going up and do a loop! In this ride, you are on your stomach in a sitting position, but your not quite 90º and it's really comfortable what's great is that BEING TILTED FORWARD is proabably the only reason the inverted loop would work comfortably; in the loop, you're pressed hard against your BACK, whereas otherwise you'd be pressed against your shoulders/head in a normal upright position oooo :(painfull . But, overall, it's not the BEST ride. because for the rest of the time after the loop, you just do a bunch of banks, ending with a barrel roll. One thing that makes this ride great tho, is that it's so new, and it's so SMOOTH!!! it's probably the smothest coaster I've ever ridden.
Next we hit the Raging Bull!!!! WOOHOOO!!!! Six Flags' greatest coaster!!! no loops or anything, but it's just plain exhilarating!!!! it starts with a 20 story (200 ft.) drop with an overbanked turn halfway back up again. then it goes on making drops and banks the rest of the time. but you're going real fast and its just great. Also, since its just banks and drops, there's no shoulder harness, so you have soooo much freedom of movement, and you feel the wind and it's just AWESOME!!! I love it. We went twice . First in the back, then in the almost front. surprisingly, its a SLIGHTLY different feel on the front/back, cuz the train is pretty long. I prefer the back, cuz you get the speed on the drops earlier than the front
Next we went over to Deja Vu. This was the first time I went on this one. It's a boomerang coaster. first you go backward and lift at 90º. it suddenly lets go and you fall back down through the station and go up into a butterfly corkscrew . when you finish corkscrewing, you fly over the station and do a large loop, and then go up a tower and get lifted agian. then you fall and do it all backwards!!! it's great cuz the second time you go even faster!! After the ride i was actually dizzy! lol it felt weird, but it felt cool, so i really liked the ride
Next we went on Demon. A not so new double-looping/double-corkscrewing TOTALLY SHAKY really slow poorly built steel coaster. its like 20 years old or somethin... Overall, it's not THAT bad, but it's not that great of a ride. its a good little kid coaster. its a good coaster for kids to call it "my first looping coaster." (as it was mine ) The loops are REALLY small, so you can FEEL the deceleration at the very top of the loop. The corkscrews are just 2 giant HEADACHE INDUCERS!!! sooo bumpy. its not a TERRIBLE coaster, but its not very fun.
Next, we walked over to Batman the Ride. For the first time ever, I saw that the line was REALLY long. Normally, the whole line was only half-full, but this time it was filled to the brim: not good Anyways, we decided this would be our last ride before lunch. So, we waited about 30mins or more. At one point there was this lady who threw up in line.... :olol it was disgusting and odd. That's just sad to puke before you even get on the ride!!! Anways, about 5 mins after that, the ride people announced the ride was temporarily closed for inspection.... .... . So, all of us being VERY hungry, and very tired of walking around, we decided to exit the line to eat lunch. hahaha we got a few comments from our fellow park-goers saying stuff like... uh... u know i forgot what they said, really. well, it was 2 weeks ago anyways. So there went our chance to ride a GREAT looping/corkscrewing/barrel-rolling coaster. It's really fun. it's got like 2 loops, 2 rolls, and maybe 1 corkscrew. Plus, you do all those things in VERY quick succession . You're never upright for more than like 5 seconds. The only down-side is that it's really quick. But the funness makes up for that.
OFF TO LUNCH!!! Since my dad's work pays for all the costing stuff, we got to eat lunch in Six Flags' Picnic Grove. The food was okay. I got to have 2 little ice cream pops which were about the best they had... Well, now i feel refreshed!!! YAY! TIME FOR SOME MORE RIDES!!!
Since we had just eaten (and i had STUFFED myself) we decided to hit a water ride. Roaring Rapids is where u get in a raft and go down an artificial white-water river. You're supposed to get soaked, but it's not engineered too good, so no one gets that wet. For me, from my thighs to my toes, i got a huge splash. Sorta uncomfortable, having ur legs SOAKED and the rest of u dry. it sucked cuz my shoes were full of water after that and i could feel the water squishing around in them.
Next, to dry off, we headed towards Vertical Velocity (V2). It's an impulse coaster that shoots u to 70 mph in about 4 seconds up into a spiral tower. then you fall back down into the station and go up a straight tower. It's pretty fun. You get 3 times to the front tower, and twice to the back. On the back's second time, it suspends u for a second to kinda shock u a bit. Also, the speed is really great, u go forward and backwards really fast and going up the hills is great.
Iron Wolf next. This is a stand-up coaster... who wants to do that? Well, i warned my bro, dad, sister, and her friend about the head-bumping-ness, but just cuz no one but me had ever tried it before, they said ah, what the heck, lets ride! If this coaster were a sitdown one, it would be awesome. I love the LAYOUT, as in the design of the loops, corkscrews, and turns, but the fact that it's sooooooooo bumpy just ruins it. Since ur staning up, ur harnessed in pretty tight, PLUS, the shoulder harness is REALLY high, so that if u swing ur head to the side, u hit the harness side. This makes for some really bad head-aches afterwards. I figured out that if u push ur head into the harness in the opposite direction of the turn, then it's less bumpy. It works good, but not good-enough. No one liked it but me and my brother.
For a classic, we rode the American Eagle. This is a racing wooden roller coaster. It starts with a 100-something foot (17x?) drop and a bunch more smaller drops. then it helixes 450º and does some more small hills. Overall it's pretty fun. Pretty long actually. It's by far the biggest structure in the park (its wooden and its long). It's slightly bumpy tho, but that's okay for me. My dad doesnt like it. What sucks is that they used to run one of the trains BACKWARDS! I would've LOVED to ridden it backwards, but after a few years, they switched it back to normal (i have no idea why, maybe an accident or mechanical probs) and i never got to.
Finally, we rode the Revolution. I objected, but no one wanted to try any more coasters . This ride is a pendulum. at the end of the pendulum, it was a large circle in which the riders sit facing the center. then, as it swings back and forth, the circle spins, creating some very nice G-forces. It's really fun, but I'd rather have ridden the Viper, another wooden coaster with lots of airtime, or Batman, but no one wanted to.
To finish off, we left the park, changed into our swim attire, and then went to Hurricane Harbor (its IN SF). The only thing we did there (HH closed in an hour) was go around the Lazy River once and then swim in the Wave Pool for the rest of the time. The wave pool is REALLY fun. The waves are great to swim around in. It sucks tho that there's SOOOOOOOOOOO many people...
Crap, i have 272 characters left!!!! wow, thats a lot of SF stuff. well, look to the next post for the next week
Please note that i ramble on about Six Flags, so u dont have to read all that. I spend like 7,000 characters JUST on SF.
