Yesterday I started making recordings of myself beating my own custom levels. They're pretty poor runs in terms of skill, but that's because a lot of them are either 1st or 2nd tries after not playing the levels for possibly years. Also, they're just demonstrations showing the intended paths (most of the intended paths are ridiculously slow compared to the best paths). I've only gotten less than 10 levels recorded and they're all the shorter ones.
I'm recording the levels in real time with ScreenFlow, but I'm saddened to say that the frame rate isn't great (despite the new graphics, it still can't handle live play and recording at the same time. It can record MBO fairly well though, so that's a plus). The plus is that they'll still look amazing in terms of frame quality. I've got a 1920x1080 screen, so I can upload in full HD (just realized this now: that means that my videos won't be less than 2GB, shit...). I'll deal with that later. Maybe I'll have to sacrifice quality for size...
I would normally use .recs to record, but I just don't want to use the extra effort, and many of my levels have fans/tornados/other things that mess up the .recs, so it's not practical either.
In other news, today was the first day of track practice (yaayyyy...!)

In other news, I have a new iMac (which I know some of you have realized already based on some of my previous posts).
I was going to make a thread for itself, but then I realized there's not much to say about it...
If you go HERE mine is the second option from the left (as of today. Obviously it'll be different when they release new models):
21.5" (1920x1080 resolution)
3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB RAM
1TB hard drive
ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics with 256MB
It's not amazing but I like it. Compared to our dead iMac G5 it sort of is amazing . It can play games smoothly, the screen is very nice (crazy bright, and I like the fact that it's HD), and we have PLENTY of storage space. I don't think we'll ever use the whole TB even if I start putting loads of crap on it (even if video recordings take up a lot of space, I delete them after they get uploaded).
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the mouse. The new Magic Mouse is also very nice. The fact that you can scroll anywhere on it is cool (and useful, not just a gimmick). You can't have a tertiary click like on the Mighty Mouse (you could press the scroll ball), but it's not a big deal because I only used it for Exposé before. The keyboard is also nice and compact. The only complaint is that Apple doesn't offer a wired version of the keyboard with numeric keypad! A retail employee said that there wasn't enough demand for them, but I WANT ONE! If I'm getting an all-in-one, I want EVERYTHING-in-one! (excluding wires of cours )
