Nice level, but it kind of annoys me how after the first checkpoint, there are two MPs that can't be reset, so if you fall off both of them, you have to restart the level. Maybe that could be fixed?

Great vid Techno! Thanks everyone for responding. How would I fix that problem, Brixar? Just add more platforms in case you fall twice?

Has anyone gotten the EE? I made it so it is easy to find but hard to learn how to get to it (though if you know how, it's pretty easy).

EDIT to above post: Bounce once Simple

|

Post by Pablo on Dec 15, 2008 23:49:29 GMT
That works for you? I tried it and I can only bounce up to the second row of blocks under the EE, not all the way.

Or collect a second helicopter as I did in my video and fly onto the egg after settling on the platform.

The second method is the one I had intended. I'll fix it up for 1.13.

New level released! Pablo's Lagoon Golf Course. This is a compilation of MMG holes, 9 in all. I made some for LCs, and some have never been seen before. They have widely differing styles, so there is something for everyone! I was considering not releasing them at all, since some are over a year old, but the enthusiastic response I received to a pic convinced me to fix it up and release. I present this only for the community's enjoyment, and not to receive any accolades. I do not view this as one of my major levels; therefore, it will not be submitted to LotM and I do not solicit reviews - I know the more picky members *cough*matan*cough* do not see in it the fun and quality of gameplay that have graced the levels of other notable builders. To sum that all up, this level is for people's enjoyment. It's not meant to be a great level. Enjoy! pablo-vasquez.home.comcast.net/~pablo-vasquez/files/PLGC.zip

Are me and PF the only ones who find the ship section impossibly hard? When I was a LC judge, there were no checkpoints, and it was hard then. Checkpoints do not an easy level make. I'm sorry, but the ship ruined the level for me. My score: 7/10 (prob. would be a 9/10 w/o the ship)

As i said in your level building topic, great job! I played the whole thing. Andrew, the ship is really easy! 10/10

Maybe 8/10, bit annoying for me, needs more checkpoints. Also, not that high replayable. Still very good

The ship is really easy, even if you don't take the shortcuts that let you finish the level sub-2. I'll make a vid of the full ship route. EDIT: Vid done. localhostr.com/files/3a83d2/PLGC.wmv

Am I the only one who thinks this level is more about realistic, awesome interiors rather than playability?

He knows it isn't as much fun as it is cool, that's why he isn't submitting it to Lotm.

Oaky, he knows that from me for over 2 days now, I'm prob. the reason why it's not in LotM. I told him he'll get those comments among all the 'awesome' ones.

Oaky puts it very aptly. Any further levels I construct will be geared much more toward gameplay. [Fun, Challenge, and Replayability.]

New level: Morass of MiseryI built this level geared towards gameplay, and my testers and I are certain it delivers. It features many new challenges inside a maze, so there are a host of different paths you can take. The DL size is kinda large because it includes the Atoll sky by PF. Note that you'll need colmesh.dts as well. Undoubtedly my most fun and replayable level ever, it represents a change in my level building philosophy - away from scenery and towards gameplay. (Though it still has good scenery, of course.) pablo-vasquez.home.comcast.net/~pablo-vasquez/files/MoM.zipI hope you enjoy! Testers (to greater or lesser degrees): Matan, MD, Mkbul, Oaky, Andrew Thanks to PF for the sky. (Sorry if I left anyone out.)

Liked it very much, but again, Originality 8/10. The challenges of the maze after the GD have been used before, by you, and the waterjump+bouncy was used by Ian. Otherwise. this was a 10/10 level. Will rate in Lotm soon.

You forgot to include me on the list... Anyway, I agree that this is one of your better levels in a while. Gearing a level toward gameplay rather than scenery makes a whole lot of difference, as you can see. Will vote soon.

Pablo, I'm so sorry the whole testing thing didn't work out. I wanted to iron out a few wrinkles that I'd found in the level and so I wanted to chat over MSN in an instant message situation. By the time we'd realised it wasn't going to work and started communicating with PMs, it was too late. I just thought having to wait 24 hours to get the next PM would take to long, which it was in the end. So I'm so sorry for trying to wait for an MSN convo when it didn't ever happen. Seriously: sorry

Andrew: Sorry, added. Oaky: It's no biggie, it was just a bad situation for exchanging instant messages. After I understood your situation, I wasn't counting on your feedback. Mkbul: I can see your review in LotM. I'm sorry for forgetting about you, but I had plenty of feedback already.
