if you type anything into the console, it records it to make sure that you did not try to bypass the real way of playing.

Framework II is possible w/out jumping. As is Stone towers. And Bump it Up. And Random Level. And Thunderbolt (w/ the ET too). and Framework I (ET, almost beat my original finish too) Also I am convinced that That Old Blast is too, but I can't get it. Ima keep editing more in, the whole second line is a series of edits...

Xuan, it sounds like you have dso's from other mods there. Most mods don't have mac installations that will retain compatibility with MBG and other mods so you have to do it yourself. Backup prefs.cs in user/library/marbleblast/marble/client and any other prefs files there, then mbpprefs.cs in user/library/marbleblast/platinum/client (assuming you're on mbp 1.20), as well as any custom levels/interiors you may have stored in marble/data then delete the "marbleblast" library folder. Patch all mods with Phil's MB Patcher tool: philsempire.com/files/mbpatcher-quickfix.zipTo use that, make sure the library marbleblast folder is empty, then launch the mod you want patched (you don't need to patch MBP or MBE). Close the mod and run the patcher tool, selecting the game when prompted. If you also want to have a different prefs file for each mod (so level qualifications are separate on each mod) you need to open main.cs in mod name.app/marble and main.cs in mod name.app/common and change all references to prefs.cs to something else (say MBfuturePrefs.cs). After that, run the mod and it should make a main.cs.dso in both marble/ and common/ --> move those back to the same folder in the mod's package contents and replace the one there. (Do this instead of HiGuy's post unless you want to run the delete dso's tool every time you want to launch a different mod.)

Just a problem I found, sorry if it was already mentioned before, that because of the 'cheater' thing, my time was not accepted whilst I was making a .rec file. Is there any way to fix this?
EDIT: In addition, I find that using FRAPS to capture MBE .recs create fatal lag that the fps plunges to 3-4 instead of my usual 30. The .rec is perfectly smooth when FRAPS is not recording. Anybody know what's the problem?

Try using FRAPS on its own to capture your runs. You'll have to go into your files and delete the raw video every time you mess up a run, but this way you don't have to pop open the console to enter in the record, and thus You Cheated shouldn't pop up.

May I make a quick suggestion? If you're gonna release a patch, fix the damn playgui. Make it smaller. x2-x3 smaller. I was watching some MBE vids and the gui was in the way for several levels which was extremely frustrating (made it a lot less fun to watch, and not due to the uploader's own fault).

Considering it's the #1 gripe about the mod (and one that would make people happy if it was fixed), I would really do it rather than put it as a "maybe".

I realize at this point MBE probably will never be updated again, but I will report this anyway. There is a glitch with the checkpoints, where sometimes they think you got gems that you didn't. So sometimes when you respawn you are suddenly "given" some of the gems that you didn't actually collect. Seems to happen randomly. Also the gems it gives you seem pretty random, although in my experience they are always gems "behind" you, meaning that you should have already collected them before hitting the CP (with the normal path), but you didn't. This could just be a coincidence of course. Also Emerald Tower is possible without jumping (got it on .rec too). These levels are getting harder and harder to prove as possible w/out jumping EDIT: Not done yet: Bumpers and Bounce is possible w/out jumping. EDIT: and How To: Rocket Booster Also, I am pretty much sure that Motocross Mission is impossible without camera movement, no way to get up the first hill w/out diagonal...

Yes and yes to the last two, I got 1:42.711 on Rocket Booster, wow been ages since I touched MBE, and BaB is possible just pretty damn insane hard with my path for getting up to the gems on the 3rd level, otherwise the rest is fairly easy.

Post by Don.Gato on Sept 4, 2011 1:45:37 GMT
I don't post a level as possible with NJ until I successfully finish a run, no matter how sure of it I am... BaB wasn't too hard BTW, at least not with my path. EDIT: Add Risin' Speed to the list. The NJ path is actually an easier way to beat the ET than how I beat the ET originally EDIT: And Climb EDIT: and Around and Around is possible without camera movement. (Probably Emerald Tower too, but I am not going to even try). Others to, but this mode sucks
