Has anyone had this problem before? Basically, sometimes at specific viewing angles, entire surfaces on walls, etc of interiors appear black. Example: Then I moved the camera angle just a little and it's back to normal.. It happens for me in both MBG and MBP so I'm thinking it's a graphics card issue. My card is Intel HD Graphics 4000 and I'm on a 2012 Macbook Air. According to Apple, the following Macs all share that same graphics card: - MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)
- MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early, 2013)
- MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012)
- MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)
- MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early, 2013)
- MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012)
- MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012)
- MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2012)
- Mac Mini (Late 2012)
If you have a Mac on that list, do you experience this problem too? Please also list your OS--I'm on 10.8.4.

I use Windows, so I wouldn't know about this problem, but there is a somewhat similar glitch I have.

It would probably help if you would explain/provide a link.

I was hoping someone would ask about it.
Sometimes the shadows will cancel out of there is another object going over the shadow. For example, let's say i'm on Ordeal at the beginning, and in the tunnel is an obvious shadow. I roll my marble into the tunnel and the shadow of the marble is now gone, but still there, as if there was no shadow at all in the tunnel.

Macs use OpenGL. Try switching your rendering mode to OpenGL and try again.
@pf How often does it happen?

I know, but Windows defaults to Direct3D. I asked for you to switch to OpenGL in the options to be like a Mac. In Options. In the game.

Happens on most if not all levels

PF:
don't know if it will help much, but make sure these values are defined this way in the mbpprefs.cs file
$pref::environmentMaps = "0"; $pref::useStencilShadows = "0";

Must be an issue with Intel Graphics. I don't have that issue, but I'm not using Intel graphics... There are several graphical options in the prefs file, like vertical sync and such, maybe switching some of them will help.

vertical sync has nothing to do with this issue...that is just syncing the frames to be updating at around the rate your screen refreshes, usually 60 hertz. So its going to keep the frame rate at no more than 60-65 fps. On windows, its always set to update at 60 fps, so we can't disable it but on mac you can.

I actually set Vsync to be enabled the other day since it REALLY helps with keeping my computer temperature down when playing MB and fans not as high. Frame rate is reported to be around 60fps. With Vsync disabled, at least from my cursory research, I got the impression that the huge FPS of like 100+ that it was reporting isn't accurate anyways since the display is only set to 60Hz refresh rate..
That said, Vsync has no effect on the lighting bug nor any of the Interior, OpenGL, or Video prefs.

Just fyi, you should always have Vsync enabled. There's no reason not too as your eyes can't even see the updates going that fast. Its just that the windows version does that automatically and the $pref is broken in the windows version.
