2011 Predictions :: Right or Wrong?

After over a year of waiting, we can now check the previous year's predictions. Discuss HERE only 2011's predictions, be it your own or others and whether they were right or wrong.

I just have to come out of hibernation for this.

INTERWEBS / MB

- Much more will have been announced about PQ, possibly gameplay trailers, mention of new features, entire-level pics, perhaps even 3 or so level demo.

Trailers yes, features yes, pretty close all-round

- PQ's release will see a huge burst of popularity for the forums and custom levels will once again be plentiful, LotY will be back and there'll be alltime highs in activity.



- Until then, custom level production will slump even more and so will the forums in general (lack of posting etc).

IMO, true

- Three new members will come along and become 'regulars'. One of these will be the next epic level maker.

Dunno, haven't been around

- One old member who's left will return to full-time posting.

Don't really know tbh

PERSONAL

- Dexter season 6 will come out, won't be as disappointing as S5 and Deb will find out about Dex.

- Hopefully I'll be very near to or perhaps even above 100 hours of my L's.

- I'll have played some epic PS3 games such as Assassins Creed 3+4, Portal 2, next COD etc.

Marble Land
- PlatinumQuest will release progressively more interesting trailers and teasers, until releasing a demo version sometime late 2011.
- Another Marble Blast Mod will be completed and released.
- We have not seen the last of Marble Blast Online.
- A forum member will create a custom level so awesome that we cannot handle the exhilarating feeling we have whilst playing it.
- Another forum member will go off the deep end and Ragequit.
- Our forums will reach a 3,000 member mark
- We will have a grand total of 150,000 forum posts
- Pablo will surpass Matan's Total Post count. (Don't fail me this year, Pablo, I'm counting on you.)
- Lonestar will still draw awesome daily comics.
- I will still be here.
The Real World
- I will meet one of you forum members IRL. For realsies this time. Don't go into hiding again.
- I'll end up breaking a bone or something because I always do stupid things.
- I will still play World of Warcraft, and rub it in everyone's face.
- A major natural disaster will hit a superpower country.
- Dick Clark will still be around for the 2012 countdown (One more year Dick Clark, you can do it buddy!)
- Chocolate Chip Cookies will now have 25% more Chocolate Chips and 15% more UMPH!
- Deep-Fried Pickled Bacon Rolls will become a new favorite New York snack.
- A world leader will get caught in a scandal.
- China will still overpower America.
- We (America) will stop giving a damn about all of the immigrant workers illegally coming into the United States when we realize they're the ones that keep our farming industries in the market.
- A tree will fall, and I will see a cloud.
- A new alcoholic tonic will be 'invented', and I will stockpile it for decades.
- There will still be zombies on your laa-awwn.
- Vermont will have massive snow-storms until Mid-March, and then a long, rainy period lasting from the end of March until mid-April, finally erupting in a hot end of April - most of May, and then a cool, rainy season between the end of May and June, revealing a temperate Summer with showers off and on every other week between June and August, finally revealing a dry but satisfying autumn for the end of August - October, where we will see snow-showers again before Halloween, and then a thunderstorm after Halloween in early November, before finally seeing more blizzard-y conditions near the end of November and for most of December. (Jesus, I should be a meteorologist if I'm correct.)

-Ho...ly..shit.. I predicted the weather for most of 2011 correctly.. Right up until the blizzards in November/December. We had snow for Halloween, and then thunderstorms right after that, leading to a warm and dry November / December...everything else was spot on. Impressive.

General/MBG predictions:

I will release something significant and cool in September or October 2011. No Gems: The Second Compilation released September! That perfectly fits!
I'm currently on a hiatus from MBG ever since I got MBP on Mac in November. This hiatus will continue until at least May. (Exceptions: no Gems, no Jumping, etc.) Sort of… I think.
I won't get any additional WRs in MBG this year. Correct, unless you count the 2.85 in Space Slide, I already had the WR in that level.

MBP predictions:

I will get at least 2 new MBP WRs. Only one, that was Orange-Fold Maze (since beaten).
I will finally beat Morph, giving me an Advanced Levels total of 100%. ( * Note: For those who saw "Thief and Morph," I beat Thief a few weeks ago) Nope, not yet…
I will beat at least 2 of the "really long Expert levels" in a time that's not embarrassing (that I haven't already done so). I got a 3:xx.xx in Cardcaddy's Diamond Collection, but I can't remember which year. I'm not sure if I've beaten any other long Expert level, although I tried and failed with Battlecube Finale.

Computer technology predictions:

NVIDIA will release one more large Fermi chip (>400 mm^2) on 40 nm to succeed GF110 before Kepler. Nope.
We will get significant information on Intel Haswell and Larrabee (or whatever it ends up as). We got decent info on Haswell, but not much on Larrabee.

Real World predictions:

In college, an event or a series of events in the next year that significantly relate to me will change (or at least shake up) the direction of my life forever… Nothing happened that fit this, as far as I am aware.

Not really because of lost IP's and stuff.

About six new mods showed up so wrong.

9.I will be best DTS maker.
No idea. But 3 best are Me MMS and cyberfox.

10.Half of what i writed will happen.
And it surely did.

World of minecraft.

1.I will built huge minecart sistem in MC beta.
Had plans but i didnt. Maybe ill do it later.

2.I will build casle.
Tried to but failed.

3. Nobodys server will come back again but will lock after month of working.
Well this ones really on spot. After server came back and was on for about month it closed due to inactivity.

4. I will be one of best builders.
Of course im arent.

5. I will kill 20 zombies without dieing once in beta.
I think i have did that in jeffreys server.

6. Roko will quit minecraft and will play rumblefight a lot.
False. Roko left both and left comunity.

7. i wount have my own server due to my slow net conection.
This ones right. Still having dialup.


Real life.

1. I will be taller than my sister who is older than me.
And of course i am. ={D

2. i will be 10 kilograms heavier.
Wrong only 7.

3. I will brake another bone (I broke one before summer holidays).
Not the best thing to predict but i didnt broke any. Phew.

4. I wount beat my sister at guitar playing.

5. I will learn 5 songs on harp.

6. I will be one year older.
OMG i am 1 year older.

7. I will have new phone.

PQ will give a massive increase of numbers in the MBF, and 1 other mod will be released.

Not really. MBE was released, but it got maybe 1% of the acclaim of MBP, and I don't see it driving the community (evidenced by number of custom levels created). I look forward to MBF, but I think it may be a few more years.

Very few people make levels, and LotM is not restarted.
First part is true. We are having a LotY for 2011, but I have doubts whether people will actually vote or whether it will just be the staff putting in all the effort. Prove me wrong, people.

The staff finally takes my advice and makes all JC members Council, eliminating JC as a separate body because it was silly.
Maybe I'll push for it this year.

For MB:

-PQ/MBF will bring me back to the Marble Blast World. As for now though I'm on a break. Neither were released, I came back on my own. Got bored of RF/MC =/
-When/If MBO comes back up I will trase Matan in Sprawl 300-0. It never came back...

- I will have found out "Nobody" 's real name.

-I will find a cave bigger than the one on my first world (took over 3 hours to explore and not even finished). Nope, and I don't even have my old world...MC was so different back then.
-I will eventually go back to Classic and fudge up Nobody's Server more. I only got to go on it once (?) this year, and it was a blast but no destruction
-I will build a town from scratch all by myself. Technically true if you count the crappy towns that spawn automatically in 1.0.0, I made it smexier tho

For RF:

-I will get at least 5 more players banned. Only 2, one on accident when I wanted to get my friend muted for fun and one for a guy who decided to scam a level 60...damn.
-At least 10 of my good RF friends will quit. Uh not really...FZxBarrera, Art, Rokoshu, Yukoki and Taolo. Guess 5 is better than 0 =\
-I will reach Lv40. Level 73 and going strong.
-Aisen will get another 1v1 with Rokoshu and epically fail once again with a 9-0. It happened at early 2012, and Aisen got 9-1'd while using a top player on his acc...lol.
-I will be-able to beat Rokoshu on Moon 15-0. It will happen k? I don't even moon anymore, let alone beat Rokoshu...Can't even beat him on Blacktop which is what I main =\
-I will take another RF break for MC/MB. Yep, like 2-3.
-I will buy at least $200 more in Astros. ALOT more than that, but this prediction is true.
-I won't quit RF. As of now, nope. Still playing but not as much as I did.

In Real Life:

-I will get shot/injured again. Um I forgot all the bad things that happened this year lol...I think maybe I got injured once or twice or thrice on my bike? Idk.
-I will pass this year. Yep...
-I will make Rokoshu mad to the point where he will post my secrets I told him all over MSN/FB/anything. He doesn't even remember them, let alone who I was for a minute when he got on RF for the first time.
-I will get a blue pillow pet to go with my purple one. ...um wat...I been had a blue one!!
-I will do something to Andrew to knock his brains out. I don't even know why I made this prediction....rofl

7 - I was very wrong with 2750. We still haven't reached 2600, although I wonder if shutting down the signup service due to spambots hasn't had an impact on the number of new members.
8 - I should have defined "posting more." Phil did post a few times, but he's been gone for a while now.
9 - My activity is definitely less than a year ago.
10 - We had a lot of return threads, but it doesn't seem like anyone has stayed.

Pretty good accuracy, but they weren't the hardest predictions to make.

Marble Blast & Forums related:
- Forums will get more than 8,500 topics, get over 155,000 posts, have over 3,000 members and will see about 90 members a day at least once, plus more than 800 guests (currently: 6,966/120,769/2,407/11+63/636)
- I will have more than 12,500 posts (currently 10,498, but 10,500 after this post and the 2009 predictions thread)
- I will be as active as always and work on MBP and PQ
- The current PQ team members will not quit, but we will get a new staff member and at least two members will return into greater activity than current
- PQ will NOT be released in 2011, but 2012 will still be a realistic time
- PQ will announce several features that will make it the single most anticipated mod for Marble Blast, possibly returning some members (who quit or will quit) into Marble Blast because of these features
- MBP will reach version 1.22 or higher
- There will be 1 new level competition for PQ, possibly last
- At least 2 mods will finish development and be released (MBF/MBE/MBOpal are my bets) before the end of 2011
- At least 7 new n00b mods will come up and die, but 1 of them will survive 2011
- LotY 2011 will not occur at all
- PF will keep updating the custom level packs once every 3 months, so 3 updates only in 2011
- At least 5 forum members will quit, but 1 of them will come back some time later
- MBG Speedrun Update #3 will be completed with the special plan Pascal and I are planning. The update will include over 20 levels updated.
- There will be a MBA WR Rampage and a MBP DC Rampage
- Pablo will pass me in post count
- MBOnline might be released for Windows/Mac as a standalone, but probably not.
- Staff lineup will be the same
- More than 5 members will be banned for being underage ( <13 ), another 2 members will be banned for other reasons
- I will create and release a new level for the community
- People will have found "Nobody"'s real name, and he will still be called "nobody" with quotes.

- Wrong. The topic numbere was just shy off 8,200 and 148,500 posts. Member count was 259x because of all the spambots. The maximum members a day we got was 5x I think. Right now we have 25-45 daily. The guests went above 1,100 but as most were bots which even the last capsule didn't know of, then we get roughly 100-150 guests a day which are not bots.

- Wrong, I had 11,8xx probably or 11,9xx. About 1,300-1,400 since last capsule!

- MBP work halted, PQ work was actually decreased a lot due to university but picked up again in November/December. I was less active overall again due to uni but I picked up slowly again. Let's say almost wrong

- Half-right. I so jinxed it. We did get some new people and one person did come back for more activity than current (in fact some others did, but they dropped off the project), but we had people quitting on us too.

- 2011 was correct, 2012... maybe. Although realistic, it might not happen.
- Correct, and some people who quit had said they will come back specifically for PQ
- Wrong. Halted at 1.20 for Mac. Windows is 1.14.

- MBE and MBO were right, although the latter had a shit release. A few more mods released in 2011 so I got this prediction correct!
- Not sure. Can anyone tell me if this is right/wrong?
- Technically it did get enough support to get going at the very end of December.
- There were 3 updates: jan-march, april (or was is jan-april?), june and then entire 2011 (those who asked for it in 2011 anyway)
